Hello,

15-eh2085cl laptop.

The question is a bit similar to the this one

The laptop has a realtek 8852be wifi/bluetooth card, M91127-001

The maintenance and service guide mentions L35282-005, intel ax200, as a possible card for this product line.

I do have a third party ax200 and ax210 cards, the laptop won't recognize both. As if nothing at all was inserted to the m2 slot.

I also do have a 'regular' wifi card, which is just m2 to pcie adapter - all three cards work in it.

I've noticed that the intels I own and the M91127-001 use different set of m2 slot contacts. The realtek on the picture is 8852ae,

it uses exactly the same contacts as M91127-001.

The L35282-005 uses the same m2 contacts as intels that I own.

lspci for all the peripherals does report "Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device NNNN"

So the questions are:Does HP somehow block the usage of a non-HP hardware? Or does it use a proprietary wiring for the m2 pcie slot?

If I get a genuine L35282-005, would it work?

Thank you.

Hi:

Chapter 3, page 17 of the service manual indicates that if you get the part number listed, it will work.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 802.11ax 2 × 2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5 (non-vPro) L35282-005

Well, that's another problem, though I don't know how big it is.

This very guide is presented to me after entering the serial and the product number.

However the CPU ( ryzen 5825u) and the wifi card (8852be, m91127-001) is not in it so I am not sure

if it really does apply to the model I own.

Thank you.

You're very welcome.

All I can say is give it a try.

It's not that expensive a risk.

I can tell you that no Intel card that ends in a '1' will work such as an AX201, nor will a vPro model AX200.

It looks like for this particular model HP in their infinite wisdom decided that only certain PCI IDs are kosher.

For the BIOS F.01 Rev.A  Jan 25, 2022 the following intel cards are probably OK:

8086:0034

8086:0074

8086:0084

8086:008c

8086:02f0

8086:06f0

8086:2723  - this one is AX200NGW, works.

8086:34f0

8086:9df0

The ID you indicated is the same ID for the AX200 card HP installed in my notebook...L35282-005

I'm almost sure every card with the PCI ID from the list will be recognized, I only have 8086:2723 and it does work.

It's not L35282-005 though. It has neither hp p/n nor sps but d p/n, I assume it came from a Dell laptop.
