Hi,
Just acquired used Spectre X2 12 and not sure if mobile/cellular function is available.
User manual is ambiguous and says if no SIM slot available, then use micro sd slot -'on some models'. Which ones??
Mine has micro sd slot, how can I tell without risking wasting money on a micro sim card?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Spectre x2 12 and would like to know if the mobile/cellular function is available on it. I read that the user guide did not contain the complete information. I'll do my best to answer this question for you.

Hi,
Thanks for the helpful response. Your instruction page is more clear than the one I downloaded. Suspect that my Spectre is not LTE abled.
As suggested, model number is X2 12-A000NA or N9Q68EA, serial no 5CD54486V9.
Couple of follow up questions - first, assuming it's not LTE abled, any suggestions for the cheapest mobile dongle for occasional casual use?
Second, MS Win10 system page says my 6Y30 processor speed is '0.9 1.51 GHz'. Intel says it's 0.9 2.2GHz. Is the Spectre version capped at a lower speed or MS data wrong?
Many thanks,
Nick

You're welcome. 🙂
There are a few third party USB micro SIM card dongles available. Probably you may try one of those.
Secondly, your laptop definitely has the Intel® Core™ M3-6Y30 with Intel® HD Graphics 515 (900 MHz, up to 2.2 GHz, 4 MB cache, 2 cores). The processor speed might go upto 2.2 Ghz and presently it is being utilized at 1.51 GHz in your laptop. The 2.2 GHz is the maximum threshold of the processor. The BIOS could offer an option to overclock the processor to work at higher speeds but we do not recommend that. This present speed is set keeping in mind all specifications of the laptop.

I hope this information helps. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks again! 🙂
