Hi @shqbsfjowai,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If the F11 key (Wi-Fi indicator light) on your HP PC stays on even after shutdown, it usually means the Wi-Fi module is still receiving power — this can happen due to certain BIOS or power settings. Here's how to fix it:
1. Disable Fast Startup in Windows
Fast Startup can keep certain hardware (like Wi-Fi) in a semi-active state even when the PC is off.
- Open Control Panel → Power Options
- Click Choose what the power buttons do
- Click Change settings that are currently unavailable
- Uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended)
- Click Save changes
- Shut down your PC and check the F11 light
2. Check BIOS Settings
Some HP BIOS versions allow USB or wireless devices to stay powered during shutdown.
- Restart your PC and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS
- Look for settings like:
- "USB Charging in Off State"
- "Wake on LAN/WLAN"
- "Always On USB"
- Disable these options if found
- Save and exit BIOS
3. Perform a Hard Reset
This clears any residual power:
- Shut down the PC
- Unplug the power adapter
- Hold the power button for 15–20 seconds
- Plug it back in and power on
4. Update BIOS and Drivers
If the issue persists, check HP’s support site for your model and update:
- BIOS
- Wi-Fi drivers
- HP System Event Utility
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
