I have a new (I month old) pavillion dv6 notebook, and it takes an unreasonably long time to attach files to my emails. The internet connections are usually strong, but it takes at least 3-5 minutes to attach photo files.

Hi CWOOD -
Are you trying to attach photo files to a web-based e-mail system like Hotmail, G-Mail or Yahoo Mail? Or are you trying to attach them to an e-mail application like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird?
How big are the files you are attempting to attach?
Have you tried plugging your computer directly into the network router (if possible) and seeing if the performance is still slow, or have you only tried this via wireless network (assuming that you're attaching to a web-based e-mail tool)?
Thanks for the additional information.
Best Regards.

Hi
It is your Broadband speed that is probably the bottleneck.
Download to Upload in DOCSIS 3 is 10:1, so a 30 Mbps connection may only have 3 Mbps upload. YMMV.
I suspect that there are filters in place to verify content etc, which may also be a burden, add in the HDD delay etc etc.
Actually I don't know why your upload is so long, but maybe it will improve. Could you reduce the picture size or quality?

Hi, I´m having the same problem, but even just uploading small word files. I have another older laptop and it doesn't have that problem (so it cannot be a network speed issue). The issue is with the new laptop. I wonder if there´s restrictions in place and how could one remove them...
