According to the Specifications, this notebook does not have 5GHz wireless:

Wireless Connectivity
802.11b/g/n (1x1) and Bluetooth® 4.0 combo

Verify your hardware:

Control Panel > icon view > Device Manager > Open Network Adapters category >

If more detail is desired, continue:

Right-Click on your Wireless > Properties > Details

EXAMPLE of 5GHz wireless (ZBook 17 G3):

802.11 Wireless LAN
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2 x 2) Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 Combo (vPro)

Connect your notebook to the 2.4GHz band on your network.

Re: Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi M.2 adapter

Hi:

There is nothing wrong with the wireless card or your notebook.

That model card is a single band 2.4 GHz only card.

Hint:  Any time you see a card with a suffix of bgn, that means it is a single band card.

Dual band cards have a suffix of abgn or agn.

Unfortunately, it looks like it is very difficult to replace the wireless card in your model, or I would have recommended that you replace the card with a dual band model that has bluetooth.

Plus doing the job yourself would void the warranty according to the manual on the user guides section for your notebook.

2.4 shouldn`'t be that bad anyway... ?

No, not "bad" - pretty typical for a lot of computers and networks.

The 2.4 GHz band does allow for some interference from other devices that use the same bandwidth.

For example, if you are having interference issues, you may need to move cordless phones and the like a bit farther away from the computer.

Your router may do a better job for you when it is sitting higher on a shelf as opposed to buried in a cabinet under the desk.

There is a great deal of information on the 'net -- use your favorite search engine to find articles of interest to you and read a bit about the technology.
