Hi @Karthik_25
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for flagging that—when a Wi-Fi adapter keeps turning off and on, it’s often due to power management settings, outdated drivers, or even a flaky adapter firmware. Let’s walk through a few targeted steps to stabilize your connection:
Restart Laptop:
- Restart your laptop to refresh system settings and network connections.
Update Network Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager (right-click the Start button > Device Manager).
- Expand the Network adapters section.
- Right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select "Update driver".
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software".
Reinstall Network Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select "Uninstall device".
- Confirm the uninstallation.
- Restart your laptop. Windows will automatically detect and reinstall the Wi-Fi driver.
Check Power Management Settings:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select "Properties".
- Go to the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
- Click OK.
Windows Update:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click "Check for updates" and install any available updates.
Reset Network Settings:
- Open command prompt as an administrator and run the following commands:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns - Restart your laptop after running these commands.
Change Wi-Fi Channel:
- Access your router settings and change the Wi-Fi channel. Sometimes interference on a specific channel can cause connectivity issues.
Check for Interference:
- Ensure that your laptop is not near other electronic devices that may cause interference such as microwave ovens, cordless phones, or Bluetooth devices.
Run Network Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Internet Connections, and then run the troubleshooter.
Verify Router Settings:
- Ensure that your router firmware is up-to-date.
- Restart your router.
