You're very welcome, Chris.

You can find the parts you need in chapter 3 of the service manual I posted above.

(13) Bluetooth module (includes Bluetooth module cable) 412766-002

Make sure you buy one that includes the cable.

This is the W7 Bluetooth driver you need for the HP BT module.

This package contains the software required to support the HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology in the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems. The HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology provides wireless connectivity to other devices from the integrated module of the supported notebooks/laptops. It also provides additional Bluetooth Profiles.

Chapter 4 of the service manual will have the procedure to remove and replace the BT module.

Looks like quite a bit of disassembly is required.

Hi:

Combination wifi/bluetooth adapters did not exist when your PC was made, so there aren't any that you can upgrade to.

That model series came with a separate HP Bluetooth module and cable.

My dv6810us came with the HP Bluetooth module, but I did upgrade the wifi card to this dual band N model...

Broadcom 4321AGN 802.11a/b/g/n module:
● For use in the United States and Canada    HP part # 434661-001

The notebook has a BIOS whitelist which prevents the installation of unsupported wifi cards.

You can only install a non-Intel wifi card listed in the service manual, and it must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

Paul,

Thanks  for the info, I upgraded to the Broadcom 4321AGN as well.

As to the separate HP bluetooth module, I can see mounting posts on the board next to the wifi card, but not any slot. Is there another place that it is mounted and if so, can you direct me to the place and P/N.

     thanks, again          Chris

Without looking I suspect that module installs on MOB (fan top Left) bottom left which looked to be a PCI bay. Yes MOB has to come out.

Thanks again, I was having a time trying to get more than bluetooth was an option Full stop.    Chris

Anytime, Chris.

Glad to have been of assistance.

No the MOB doesn't need to be removed.  Chris
