@5CD334N6MT, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand how frustrating it must be when your HP Laptop 15 is unable to detect or connect to your phone’s hotspot, especially when it affects your studies. Let’s work together to resolve this issue.
Check Hotspot Band Compatibility
Some HP laptops support only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band, while some mobile phones broadcast hotspots on 5 GHz by default.
Try this:
- On your phone, go to Hotspot Settings.
- Look for AP Band or Hotspot Band.
- Change it from 5 GHz to 2.4 GHz.
- Save and restart the hotspot.
- Now check if your laptop detects the hotspot.
Update Wireless Drivers
Outdated or incorrect drivers can cause connectivity issues.
Steps:
- Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your product.
- Download and install the latest Wi-Fi (Realtek or Intel) drivers.
- Restart your laptop.
Run HP Network Troubleshooter
HP provides a built-in tool to diagnose and fix network issues.
Steps:
- Press Windows + S, type HP Support Assistant, and open it.
- Go to Troubleshooting and Fixes > Internet and Security > HP Network Check.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
If you don’t have HP Support Assistant, download it from here - HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
Reset Network Settings
This will remove all saved networks and reset your adapter.
Steps:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Scroll down and click Network Reset.
- Click Reset Now and restart your laptop.
Check for Windows Updates
Ensure your system is fully updated:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install all available updates.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
