Hi! @00dt, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you have wireless connection issues with your PC.

Don't worry I'm here to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Are the wireless drivers listed in device manager?

As you mentioned you have wireless issues with your PC and the wireless card is not listed in the device manager.

If you are connecting your PC using a wireless connection try updating the BIOS and wireless drivers on your PC and check if it helps.

Update the BIOS and wireless drivers on your PC using this link: https://hp.care/2IJBOQW

Uninstall the wireless drivers from device manager and install the drivers using HP support assistant.

Note: Before uninstallation of the wireless drivers make sure your PC is connected via ethernet cable.

Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant.

Try the steps recommended below to solve the wireless issue with your PC.

Click the Start button.
Type Power Options and press Enter.
Click Continue if prompted.
Click “Change plan settings” under the power plan that is currently selected.
Click “Change advanced power settings”.
In the Power Options box, click the + next to “Wireless Adapter Settings” to expand it.
Then click the + next to “Power Saving Mode”.
In the list that appears next to On battery, select “Maximum Performance”.
Click OK.

Click the Start Button.
Type “Device Manager” and press Enter.
Click Continue if prompted.
Click the [+] next to Network adapters.
Right Click on “Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC” or similar Wireless card.
Click Properties.
Click on the Advanced Tab.
Click on 802.11d.
On the right-hand side change the drop down to Enabled.
The  following steps are optional but may help:
Select TX power level.
On the right-hand side change the drop down to 100%.
Select Wireless mode.
On the right-hand side change the drop-down menu to “IEEE 802.11b/g”.
Click OK.

Manually change network settings

Manually changing the network settings can resolve wireless connection issues. Create a restore point in Windows, and then manually change the network settings.
Using the search box on the taskbar, search for and open Create a restore point.
The System Properties window displays.
Click Create.
Type a name for the restore point, and then click Create.
Windows creates the restore point.
Using the search box on the taskbar, search for Command Prompt. In the results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
If a User Account Control screen displays asking if you want to allow the app to make changes to your computer, click Yes.

Type the following commands one at a time, pressing Enter after each one.

ipconfig/flushdns
nbtstat -R
nbtstat -RR
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
To open the TCP Global Settings, type netsh int tcp show global in Command Prompt and then press Enter.
Make sure all settings are disabled except Receive-Side Scaling State.
Close Command Prompt, reboot the system and then try to connect to the Internet.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot wireless issues with your laptop.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps try running a system diagnostics on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.

Refer this article to know more information about running system diagnostics on your PC.

Also, try reseating the wireless card on your laptop as a last resort.

@00dt, thanks for your quick response and time.

I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us.

As you mentioned the wireless card is not listed in device manager.

It certainly looks to be a hardware issue with your laptop.

If you are comfortable enough try reseating the wireless card on your laptop and check if it helps.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps.

Hello,

Try the following:

- go to "edit power plan"

- change advanced power settings

- wireless adapter settings

- put everything to "maximum performance

- reboot

Curious to see if this works for you, it seems to solve a lot of people's WI-Fi issues as of late.

I was very happy with an Envy dv4 beats rebuild, with Zorin as the OS. After 4 Yrs. of reliable use(some of which were homeless, on the streets) the hard drive quit. My father purchased me a (my current) HP Pavilion dv5. Known as "The entertainment laptop" with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I am a DJ so he figured that this was the best choice. Audio is everything to me... Entertainment??? It came without Bluetooth! The headphone jack failed, as did the entire sound card. So in order to get sound out of it I replaced the current non-Bluetooth WIFI card(1128NHMW). I used the Intel WIFI card(2230BNHMW) with Bluetooth out of my dead HP and installed it in this one, only to find out that the same genius that didn't think Bluetooth was important in an "Entertainment" HP Laptop also ******* WHITE-LISTED the Intel WIFI card that was okay in my previous HP in BIOS! So now I'm stuck with a soundless, Bluetooth-less "Entertainment" laptop out of warranty. I used to brag about my HP, but now I look like a fool with a pretty HP Pavilion, THAT IS MUTE! I would like to tell my crowd that I filled out this survey and got results... So, here is my E-mail: [Personal Information Removed] . If you can send me a solution (such as a flashable Whitelist-free BIOS) I and my audience would be amazed, and HP would be redeemed in all of the(many)forums I post in . Thank You
