Hi @zaidinhio ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've already updated the Wi-Fi drivers, BIOS, and rebooted the router without improvement, there are a few additional steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the weak Wi-Fi signal issue on your HP laptop running Windows 11:
Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength:
- On Windows 11, you can check the Wi-Fi signal strength by clicking on the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar.
- Ensure that the signal strength is low even when you are close to the router. This can help confirm that the issue is with the laptop and not just a weak overall signal.
Network Troubleshooter:
- Run the built-in Windows Network Troubleshooter to automatically detect and fix any network-related issues.
- To do this, right-click on the network icon in the taskbar, select "Troubleshoot problems," and follow the on-screen instructions.
Power Management Settings:
- Check the power management settings for your Wi-Fi adapter. Sometimes, power-saving features can affect the performance of the Wi-Fi card.
- Go to Device Manager, find your Wi-Fi adapter, right-click, and go to Properties. In the Power Management tab, uncheck the option that allows the computer to turn off the device to save power.
Reset TCP/IP Stack:
- Open Command Prompt with administrator privileges and type the following commands one by one: netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
Disable/Re-enable Wi-Fi Adapter:
- In Device Manager, disable and then re-enable your Wi-Fi adapter. Sometimes, this simple action can refresh the connection.
Check for Interference:
- Ensure there are no other electronic devices or sources of interference close to your laptop or the router that could affect the Wi-Fi signal.
Factory Reset Router:
- Consider performing a factory reset on your router to ensure it's not a router-related issue. Keep in mind that this will reset all settings, so you may need to reconfigure your network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
