I updated all driver on website and still not fixed. need help very hard to reach HP support. I've only had laptop less than 2 years, my mac that is almost 15 years old has no problem with internet. need help asap.

Hi:

Your notebook's support page does not have the most recent Wi-Fi drivers for the Realtek Wi-Fi adapter your notebook comes with on the support page.

This is the latest driver for that model Wi-Fi adapter...

I don't know if it will fix the problem you are having, but it is the latest driver available.

I downloaded it but it does not add to my network adaptors. I try to add it manual from HP downloads but it says "the specified location contains no driver package (.INF) files". i made a new folder with just that driver and it still says "the specified location contains no driver package (.INF) files".

The hp help on wifi said to delete the wifi driver and if it doesn't reappear its a hardware issue? is that right. I deleted Microsoft wifi driver and Realtek driver (which where hidden) and they did not reappear.

I ran an extended hardware diagnostic test and it passed. Not sure what else to do.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to back up any files you need to save onto a portable hard drive.

Use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

Your other option would be to replace the problematic Realtek RTL8822CE Wi-Fi adapter with this model...

You can find this part number on eBay.  Search by the HP part number, not the model of the Wi-Fi card.

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure.

And HP will do nothing to stand behind its product? I've had this computer 1 year and 3 months. What do they build the computers to last 3 months past the warranty so they are in the clear? I cant reach anyone from HP but for a performance gaming computer to lose wifi after 1 year and 3 months is pretty absurd

Sorry, but I don't work for or represent HP.

I can only provide peer to peer assistance, which I have done to the best of my ability.

One of the two suggestions I provided should work for you.

Whether or not you choose to take my advice is up to you.

Thank you, that is good advice and i would take it if i had this computer was over 4 years old or something but I'm going to try to reach HP and see what they can do. I've read a lot about these chips having issues with windows updates. I'm sure it was meant to last longer than 1 year after purchase especially for a performance laptop. hopefully they will be able to do something or already know there's a problem with these chips.
