@LAPTOP-4OLC8I2U, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Victus laptop is experiencing a Wi-Fi disconnection issue specifically when it's plugged in for charging, which is a known but uncommon issue. Based on recent support discussions and troubleshooting guides, here are some steps you can try to resolve this:

Change Power Management Settings

This is the most common fix for your issue.

  • Press Windows + X → select Device Manager
  • Expand Network adapters
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Realtek or Intel) → Properties
  • Go to the Power Management tab
  • Uncheck: “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”
  • Click OK

Adjust Wireless Adapter Power Settings

  • Open Control PanelPower Options
  • Click Change plan settings next to your active plan
  • Click Change advanced power settings
  • Expand Wireless Adapter SettingsPower Saving Mode
  • Set both On battery and Plugged in to Maximum Performance

Update or Reinstall Wi-Fi Drivers

  • In Device Manager, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Update driver
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers
  • If that doesn’t help, uninstall the driver and restart your laptop to reinstall it automatically.

Reset Network Settings

  • Go to SettingsNetwork & InternetAdvanced network settings
  • Click Network reset → Restart your laptop

BIOS and Chipset Update

Sometimes, outdated BIOS or chipset drivers can cause power-related issues:

  • Visit the HP Support website and enter your laptop model
  • Download and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
