So since I've created an account does that mean I have the adapter since I got it plugged in wireless

Sorry, I can't work out your question but having an account with an organization and getting wireless are two different things. To be able to get wireless, you need a provider (ISP - Internet Service Provider), it will install a router i your house and supply SSID + Password for you to use its network. There are many ISP's in your area, please talk with them.
