Hello,

I've got two 8530p notebooks exhibiting the same behaviour:  With the battery and AC adaptor inserted, I press the power button and the power LED flashes blue then white 12 times, then shuts off.  The little Info button on the touch panel lights up for a few seconds, and if I press that the LED sequence repeats itself.  There are no LED codes in the Caps Lock/Num Lock.  If I hold the power button down, the NIC blinks green every two seconds, but the power LED stays orange.  After releasing the button, nothing happens.

If I take the battery out and just try to use AC, the NIC blinks green once, then nothing else.  If I hold down the power button, the NIC blinks green once every two seconds; when I release the power button, the same blue/white blinking occurs from the power LED.

With just the battery inserted, with a single power button press I get the blue/white blinking power LED, then the Info button.  No NIC light up.  If I hold down the power button, the power LED stays blue, but after 10 seconds it starts the blinking pattern again.

I've used a known working 90W and 120W adaptor with the same results.  Unfortunately, I don't have any spare batteries to try, but shouldn't the system power on with just AC power?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Update:  Was able to try a known good battery, with the same results.  Also was able to try the laptops on a docking station with the same results.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hello! I have a same problem. The problem is the hard drive. You can try the laptop without HDD and if your laptop working correctly, you need to change hdd,  the problem solved.

Bye

The hard drive?  Really?  I didn't even think about it being that simple... I'll give that a shot, thanks!
