I'm having an odd issue with the SD card slot in my 9470m running Windows 7 64bit. When I start my laptop with the SD card inserted, the laptop reads the SD card just fine. However, if I eject the SD card and re-insert it, the laptop does not recognize it. The only way to read the SD card is by rebooting the laptop.
Things I have already tried:
- Different SD cards.
- In Device Manager, uninstalled USB Root and let Windows 7 rebuild.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and more importantly, any resolution?
Thanks!

I suggest that you reinstall the JMicron media card reader driver software.

Well, this is odd. When I responded last week right after installing the driver, all was working fine. However, I just tried and the same problem is back again. I tried re-installing the driver and it did not solve the problem. Does anybody have any other suggestions?
As an aside, I plugged in an external USB card reader and it was recognizing SD Card just fine.

I am also having issues getting one of my SD card to read.
I have two 64 gb Sony SDXC card and both reads perfectly
I have 2 Samsung 32GB SDHC card and those will not read at all
I have tried my friends Sandisk cards 64 and 32GB and they work fine.
Sounds like driver issue still and there is not update on it. Please someone fix the drivers so it can read the SAmsung SD cards please!?!?!

Hi TrucksNguyen,
I see that you are having a problem reading some SD cards. I will be happy to help. Are you using the 9470m as well or a different model? If you are using a different model I will need your product number. What version of operating system are you running? Have you tried those Samsung SD cards on another computer to ensure they are not faulty.
Find your product number on a notebook:

Finding your OS:

Yes I am using 9470m and running on Win 7 Ultimate 64bit OS.
I have a 8470 laptop as well and it reads any SD card fine including the Samsung card.
I have unistalled and reinstalled the sdcard drivers from HP drivers and software site.
When I put the Samsung card in it doesn't read it or recognize it. It acts like nothing was put in the reader.
I also have tried it on other 9470m that my co workers have and doing the same thing

Hi TrunksNguyen,
If you have the card in the computer and restart does it recognize it by any chance. I also want to confirm that this is the driver that you uninstalled and reinstalled.
I have also seen this during my research and that seem to help someone else with a similar issue.
1. Open Device Manager
2. In "Disk Drives" dropdown, uninstall the "Generic SD/MMC USB device" drive.
3. Restart computer
4. Insert SDHC card
