Hi all,

I have an HP pavilion g6 2228ee laptop. It has amd radeon 7670m graphics card. I formatted my harddisk and tried to install the amd drivers but it shows install package failure. I have tried several times formatting and retrying, but still the nasty install package failure! The intel vdeo driver installs sucessfully, and it seems the amd display driver installs, the install report shows catalyst control center and amd app sdk status as failure. I am using the setup from hp support and drivers page...  I hope experts around here can solve this issue..

Thanks in advance.

Hey amalfra,

I'm sorry you're running into this video driver issue and for the delayed response. I (we = entire community) do try to get to as many questions as I can. I'll be glad to help you with this issue in any way I can.

I looked up that model number and didn't find one ending in 'ee'. Perhaps I could get your product number which may be a little more specific. You can find it by pressing FN + ESC to bring that information up (or follow these steps).

Also if you could let me know which version number you are trying to install. If it is the latest version, there are a couple of possibilities: a) the first attempt was corrupted or interrupted and just didn't install successfully so every other attempt may be affected by that, or b) it may require that an earlier version is installed first before updating to the latest version. So if you could let me know which version you are trying, I could recommend another version number.

Let me know if you have any questions Smiley Happy

Would you mind providing me with the driver version number?

Have you tried uninstalling the old driver before attempting to install the new one?

1. Open Device Manager

2. Expand Display Adapters

3. Double-click on the Radeon line to bring up Properties

4. Click the Driver tab

5. Click the Uninstall button but do not restart the computer when it prompts you to.

6. Go directly to the downloaded latest driver file and attempt the installation again.

Let me know how that turns out. Also make sure you have the latest BIOS version. Normally, I would provide you with the latest driver version for your model and direct link to it but for some reason the website is not pulling up your model or product number. Sorry about that.

1. Press the FN + ESC keys to bring up your current BIOS version (ex. F.##)

2. Go to the HP Driver page

3. Expand BIOS and compare the version listed on the page to the version currently on your computer.

4. If the version currently on your computer is earlier, go ahead and download and install the latest version from the HP Driver page.

Let me know how each of these steps go.

I tried formatting the system 3 or 4 times and trying on a fresh win copy.... Still the same old error 'Install package failure'

well then only thing that is left is that your driver install package is corrupted somehow..try downloading the new copy of your driver...that could solve it.....if that fails try another version of your driver..good luck...what's your OS version?

if it is 64-bit try this        http://leshcatlabs.net/index.php/2013/05/leshcats-catalyst-13-4-whql-unifl-v2-for-amdintel-powered-l...

I came across this thread. The user didn't confirm whether it works or not but I wanted to share it just in case.

Hello,

I am having the same problem with my laptop.

I use HP Pavilion DV6 6C75EA

Product No. A7Q22EA#ABU

[Moderator edited image with Serial Number]

I have uninstalled all amd drivers on my computer, reinstalling is the problem. keep getting "install Package Failure". I used auto detect so i could get the drivers meant for this particular model. and that's what I downloaded...twice, same response.

It's been frustrating and I really do need help with this. Anyone please.
