Hey there! Shelby1888, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!
I understand you are getting access denied message after factory reset on your PC.
Don't worry I'd like to help you out.
How did you perform a factory reset on your PC?
Try performing a BIOS default on your PC and check if it helps.
To boot into BIOS turn on your PC keep tapping the F10 key you will boot into BIOS.
From the file or main menu select defaults.
Press F10 to save changes and exit.
If the issue still persists run a system recovery on your PC using the recovery discs.
If you don't have a set of recovery discs, please contact HP support for service options.
Link to contact HP.
Also, run system diagnostics on your PC and let me know the results.
Refer this article to know how to run system diagnostics.
I'll watch your reply!
Have a beautiful day ahead! 🙂

Many thanks for your reply and it worked a treat. The only problem I have now though is I cannot connect the laptop to wireless broadband it will only work through the Ethernet cable which is of no use for the kids.
It says in corner that it's connected but when try a search it comes up connection error message ? Do you have any ideas what's best to try?
Many thanks.
