Yeah I have switched the channel, multiple times. I even tried channels 6 and 9 when 1 and 11 caused problems

Paul - Are there any updates that will work for the AR5009?  I still can't connect to my NETGEAR wndr3800 unless I drop back to 54Mbps.

Hi:

The HP driver I posted is the latest one for that card.

Paul -

I've tried to read through the entire thread and believe I've accounted for all options . . .

-Pavilion g7 2269wm running Windows 8 with Atheros AR9485 (both OEM)

-Router is Actiontech Q1000 and firmware is current

-Recognizes wireless network but not able to connect

-Have tried several driver versions including ones from earlier posts

-HP Tech tried to update driver, flash bios, and restart with no luck

-I've tried to update driver to Win7 with no luck

-I've tried all Router channels including 1, 6, 9, and 10 with no luck

Anything else I should try?

I see customer reviews for this model/OS indicating similar issues, but haven't found a discussion thread in any forum that appears to have fixed a Win8/AR9485 combination other than purchasing a USB network adapter.

Thanks!

I, too haven't been able to solve this problem. I have a m6-1035dx running windows 8 pro with the same wireless adapter. The only difference between your problem and mine is that I initially am able to get Internet but only for a few minutes. It then slows down so much it becomes unusable and I have to reset the modem.
I have updated the driver but had to use the one from HP because the one in Paul's link won't work on windows 8.
I have also tried a USB adapter (Linksys AE1000) but it does the exact same thing. The Linksys works fine on my old desktop running windows 98. Also, everything works fine with the Atheros adapter on other networks. It's just my home Internet that is affected by the laptop. And other wireless computers work fine, too.
Plugging in to router with ethernet cable works, too.
I am extremely frustrated and it looks like HP isn't attempting to solve the problem. Sending the laptop in to them to fix it won't work, either, because it works just fine on other networks and they probably wouldn't find anything wrong. So I have to rely on forums like this one to try and find an answer.
Thanks, Paul, for all your attempts to help but nothing is working.

I'll try it. Thanks Paul. I'll let you know if it works.
