Hello HP,
I own an HP X2 10n-002nl which was delivered with 32-bit windows 8.1 and now upgraded to 10.
I recently discoverd, to my disappointment, that it is imposssible to install 32-bit or 64-bit OS such as Linux without incurring into much trouble.
(I've just tried but I **bleep***** up the process ending with a 501 bios error, then I have reinstalled a clean win10)
It would be nice to have both 64 bit processor and hardware giving the user more flexibility in its OS choice.
Anyway this tablet is so slow compared to Android tablet! A boost is much needed!
Than you for your attention

Hello @MarcoVendra,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! The forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!
I came across your post about the issue with the Operating System, and wanted to help! I understand that you upgraded to Windows 10, and is not happy with the performance. I see that you attempted to install the Linux Operating System, with no luck.
From my understanding, you should be able to install Windows 10 (64-bit), if that is what you are looking for. You only need 2 GB of RAM, and 20 GB of Hard Drive space, to run Windows 10 (64-bit). Otherwise, to increase performance, you can try reviewing the following document:
HP PCs - Computer Is Slow (Windows 10)

Unfortunately I do not think that this is possible given the 32bit uefi. Moreover I got the registration key for a win 32.
The performance issue is a big one considering also the fact that microsoft apps sucks.
I'm quite unhappy about that.
Fortunately the HP X2 is a nice machine apart from this flaw.

Hello @MarcoVendra,
I understand that the Windows that came with your system is 32-bit. However, I am indicating, that if you were to get Windows 10 (64-bit), upgrading should be a possibility, based on the specifications of the notebook. Try reviewing the following resource, for more information: Installing Windows x64 on 32-bit UEFI (EFI-IA32) via GRUB
(Not an HP supported Web site).

You know that nowadays pay for windows it is a crime! the only decent product they got is the Office suite, which is also becoming obsolete.
Anyway the only way to install other 64 bit programs is through a pain-in-the-a process.... It would be nice to have a 64 bit uefi for such situations (just has new X2 !!!!!)
SDF thank you for your support
