As I understand you are looking for keyboard backlit to turn on only when its pressed and off when it's not pressed. I'll be really glad to help you with this,

Please follow the support guide for Turning a Backlit keyboard On or Off - click here

You could toggle between dim, On and Off using the Fn Key + F12 key.

Actually nothing happened when I did that, is there a notification or an indication of the toggle between modes?

Hi @Mdad909,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I understand you have followed the steps suggested in the previous post and still having the issue, and you would like to know if there is any notification or an indication of toggle between the modes.

On the keyboard, there would be an option to enable/disable backlight using the combination of FN and F11/F12 Key. The button image has a box with 3 bars and light rays extending outward. Here you can toggle between the keys.

Press and hold the Fn key and the press the dedicated key couple of times which would help to increase and decrease the brightness of the backlit keyboard.

I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

Hi!

I have read all these answers but I still have the problem. I can turn on the light manually but not automatically. The links you provided explain just how to turn on manually.

Can you help me, please?
