OK. So i got my bios replaced today and I started to reinstall OS. After that I had some troubles with CAPS LOCK - flashing continuosly after waking up from sleep mode. Tried all sort of things to do but nothing work. Did you ever had this problem? Could it be related to BIOS? Looking forward to an answer.

Good day

My client has an HP 4530s and He wants me to remove He's bios fingerprint password.

but if I He swipes He's finger everything in the sicurity tab of the bios is locked.

He told me that He is the only person using the laptop.

is there a way for me to flush or reset the bios.

Thank you

Hello, This is the first time I am trying to post and am not sure it is in the right forum.

My son bought me a new laptop and he signed himself in with a Windows Live ID.  When I received the computer I did not have a Windows Live Email or ID, so I put in my Gmail email and a password.  I do not think I was asked to put in my password a second time, but I must have missspelled my password.

Now I must be the only administrator, as it keeps asking me for my password, even when I am in his account.  I cannot go into my account, as I do not know the password.  I cannot reset the password as it is not a Windows Live ID.  I cannot even do a system recovery or even change the time on my notebook, as it even asks for my password, which I do not know.

I have tried to a password recovery with discs, but it failed twice using two different types of password recovery software.

If any can help me I would appreciate it very much as the notebook is brand new.

One more thing, I cannot bring it back to the shop as It was bought in U.S. and we live in Ireland.

Thanking you in advance for any help.

Kathy

Try removing the mother board battery, then power up the system... save changes
... see manual for procdure for removing/disassembly. This worked for me.

@me1962

Have you tried creating Recovery Discs that can be used to boot from and run System Recovery?
