What I did was put in my gmail account instead of a windows ID and when I typed in the password i must of made a typo and now dont know the password.  I have tried recovery password reset with two different types of software and both failed.  I cannot restore the laptop back to factory conditions unless I know password.  I have no administrative priveledges.  I cannot even change the time.  Spent hours trying different things, but to no avail.  Thanks

Have you tried creating Recovery Discs that can be used to boot from and run System Recovery?

For resetting the bios password. download a copy of your laptop manual to another computer. Fallow the process for removing the motherboard battery. while the battery is not installed power the system up the bios screen will load with no password filled in the password fields. Save changes and you can shut down the laptop. Replace the MB battery and your system will work as it should. This worked on a couple of systems I worked on.

Try removing the Mother Board. Power the system, the system I worked on came up with the BIOS page and the password spaces blank... Save changes. Shut the system down. Replace the battery. Start the system normally. You system should work like you need it to...

I just purchased a display model from WalMart today - there is a Bios Password set. As the system is still under warranty, I called support but they are unable to assist me. They are suggesting that I pay for a motherboard replacement.

The System Disabled message is 57721416.

Please provide an unlock code - the official answer is "it doesnt exist".

This is for an HP 2000-2b09WM.
