BIOS Password Reset

Hello Guys,

I recently bought a HP Elitebool 8470p at Ebay Market Place but there's a BIOS/UEFI password. Could you please help me to unlock it?

I don't know how to fix that. After I read the thread I found out that it's troublesome to unlock the bios for Elitebooks in some cases. Is it possible to remove the bios battery or set a jumper to reset the password? If so, is there a documentation somewhere where to find the bios battery? Please be so kind and let me know and sent me the link.

Hi Zdeno,

If you enter an incorrect password 3 times ( or just hit enter 3 times ), do you get a 'halt code' displayed?  If you do, post back with this code.

Hello,

I am facing an annoying problem:

At the company I'm working at I Inherited a ProBook 6560b laptop from someone who left the company.

I need to enable the virtualization feature in the BIOS to install an Ubuntu VM but unfortunately the BIOS one is protected

by an administrator password that no one seems to know.

Could someone please help ?

Try remoing the motherboard battery and start the laptop, save bios changes... reinstall bios battery. Please refer to the manual on the procedure. Bill
