I would like to know what is the p/n for a backlit version of the keyboard for a ProBook 430 G1. Also, can you point to website to purchase such part ? Thanks.

Hi,
You also need to buy a new motherboard which has ZIF slot for you to connect keyboard to get lights and this can be very, very, very expensive upgrade. And there is no option on its Maintenance and Service Guide:

Thanks for your response. My k/b has a single flat ribbon cable that goes to the system board. From my understanding, the k/b's are interchangeble. The same flat cable would carry the power for the backlit k/b. I have another Probook 430 G1 with the spec's as mine except it has the backlit k/b with the same flat cable. System boards should be identical and option is available, please advise....Thank you.

Hi,
As mentioned above, no part option in the manual. Does it have a spare ZIF for lights ?
Regards.

I just compared both PB's and here is what I found:
Non-Backlit Version:
1. One (1) flat ribbon connected via ZIF.
2. No second ZIF socket for power/light.
Backlit Version:
1. One (1) flat ribbon cable, wider than that of the non-backlit version.
2. Second, ribbon connector connected to ZIF socket. Most likely for power.
With that said, is there any other solution to have the k/b lighted ?
Thanks again for your assistance.

Hi,
As mentioned on my very first reply: you need a motherboard which supports backlit keyboard and this is a very, very, very expensive upgrade.
Regards.
