Backspace key will only remove 1 character at at time

My backspace key will only delete one character at a time. When I press and hold the button, nothing happens. If I want to delete more than one character at a time, I have to press the backspace button over and over. None of the other buttons are performing this way. Only the Backspace.

I read your post on the HP Support Forums. I wanted to reach out to you and help! I understand that your backspace button only removes one character at a time on your HP Envy X360 Notebook PC. 

Here is a document called Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting. I am copying and pasting below a section from this document that may help you. 

Key presses are slow to respond

If there is a short delay from the time a key is pressed to the time the character displays on the screen, the Filter Keys function might be activated. The Filter Keys function provides a greater range of key press options to fine-tune key delays and prevent inadvertent key presses. To disable Filter Keys and return to the default keyboard behavior, use the following steps:

• In Windows, search for and select Change how your keyboard works.
• At the "Make the Keyboard easier to use" screen, remove the selection from Turn on Filter Keys. Then click Set up, Filter Keys.

• On the Set up Filter Keys page, remove the selection from Turn on Filter Keys when SHIFT is pressed for 8 seconds to disable the Filter Keys keyboard shortcut.

• Click OK, then close the Ease of Access Center.
• The keys should now be more responsive.
