I am also running the anniversary update. And my SSD model is "NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLV256 - 238.47 GB".

I am going to try the Dec 16 driver from Softpedia.com and see how that goes as the one I got from the IObit software was the Aug '16 version.

Official source from Samsung. I'm giving it a shot.

then scroll down to "Driver" section

Alright there's your problem, you got the V model, check out "huffers" answer in this link (if i can post it) - http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Spectre-x360-kaby-lake-Amazing-... - he has the same ssd as you do, only in a hp spectre, he got about the same benchmark result as you. I have the W model, i guess that explains the difference.

@Rajamahal if you have the same SSD as me "NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLW256" you should should see a substantial increase in read and write speeds. If you have the MZVLV version it seems it won't do anything for you..

HP Recommended

The reason for the disparity is because something is not even recognising the driver..

When I check the driver details from the device manager, it is still showing the 2006 version.

So it is 'installed' on the computer but not actually driving anything.

I didn't have to do anything, first iobit installed it for me, and after I ran the Samsung nvme driver exe it had updated to the latest version. Maybe (funny as it sounds) your drive isn't compatible with the Samsung driver? At least it explains why you didn't see any difference in performance. Have you tried installing it manually? I'll post some screenshots of the actual driver in device manager tomorrow if you need me to, gotta go to sleep now, it's 5am where I'm located.

that is great results and speeds.

so you are were this drive is supposed to perform

I have installed it manually about 5 times...

It just doesn't show on the driver details apart from the earlier version.

Ok, nevermind, I was looking at the driver details for the SSD, not the storage device controller... it has installed but the benchmark scores are basically the same as before.

It must be a hardware thing.

windows 10 is such a pain

I install the samsung driver, but it keeps defaulting back to the 2006 MS driver.

I don't want to download other software to force it to install. i wonder if there is around this
