Hello AxshunJaxun,

Thank you for your replay!

Yes, I have the latest version of HP Support Assistant and here the screenshot from the BatteryCheck Test:

Status is OK, but I noticed that the Cell Voltage 4: shows 0 mV. Is this normal?

On the screenshot you will see that the battery is currently charging, but I did uninstall the HP Power Manager in order to start charging.dm1.jpg

Hi again,

The system dignostics shows the same status of the battery as the HP Support Assistant.

Hey Georgi,

Sorry for the late reply. How long has this issue been going on? Maybe a better question is has it been this way since you got the computer? I'm leaning more toward something wrong in the registry since a simple software un/reinstallation corrects the problem. I don't believe that it is hardware.

I know it's a hassle to do, but I would suggest reinstalling Windows from the HP Recovery Manager. This would correct any corrupt registry lines.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions 🙂

Hello AxshunJaxun,

At first I was using the original Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit without any problems - maybe 2 months.

I have this problem since I unistalled some HP Software from the computer. Then I reinstalled all the software again (hp framework, hp support assistant, power manager etc.) but no luck.

After this I upgraded to Windows 8 - installed fromt the scratch - still the same problem...

I like this laptop very much and I`m sure - soon or later the solution for this problem will come out. I also thnk that this is a software issue. Just there is a tricky moment with the hp softwre and the bttery.

Best Regards,

Georgi

Also updated BIOS to latest version.

MY charger LED is also not orange when laptop is off an connected to ac power. Isnt it supposed to charge the battery and turn orange? My battery is flat now.

Hello Glentcge,

I understand your charger is not charging your battery, is that correct? If so, I will try to assist you with this issue.

Does your computer have Windows 7 or Windows 8 installed?

Yes the charge LED indicates the state of the charger. If you see issues with it, the problem is the charger, not the battery.

White = AC adapter is present

Off      = Notebook is running on battery power

Blinking Orange = Low battery or battery error

Solid Orange = Battery is charging

Those colors apply whether the notebook is on or off. If the charger LED is off while the charge is plugged into the notebook and a known-good wall outlet, then the charge either has a short, loose connection or it's going bad.

Try a similar charger and let me know the results.
