I have a Envy TS 17 Notebook 17 model number: J0G7GAV. It always had nice sound and had the beats control panel, which I never really messed with, but I assume did something. One day after a windows update it got extremely quiet. I think it is just using some really weak internal speakers. Headphones and external speakers still work fine. I also noticed that my beats control panel is gone, and I believe my speaker info used to say something about Realtec audio, but now just says "HD audio device" and the driver says it's from Microsoft. I also found that under device properties there is an "event" listed from april (which is when this started) that says the device was "migrated" and then reads:
Device HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76E0&SUBSYS_103C1968&REV_1003\4&23a86743&0&0001 was migrated.
Last Device Instance Id: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76E0&SUBSYS_103C1968&REV_1003\4&23a86743&0&0001
Class Guid: {4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Location Path:
Migration Rank: 0x0
Present: true
No idea if this is meaningful, or what it might mean, just thought that since it was about the right time it might mean something. I tried to get help on another thread but it fizzled out. I tried the basic troubleshooting stuff, and I followed this link to get a new driver but it made no change. I'd really like some help as this doesn't seem like a hardware problem and it really sucks that my beautiful beats speakers now make less noise than my cheap smartphone.

Hi,
The hardware id you've listed would indicate you have an IDT sound chip - try installing the IDT HD Audio software package on the following link ( this should also provide the Beats gui ).
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63555.exe
When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.
