If you remove the hard disk and then boot up the machine does the BIOS freeze?

Are you able to access it with the F10 key?

wen i remove the hardisk it still freezes, when i remove the memory and try to turn it on the screan lights up dark but nothing comes on.

thanks

Removing the memory to test it is not helpful. The resulting black screen is what is to be expected.

Have you ever updated the BIOS?

Have you considered trying to recover the BIOS? see the following document for details. Try the restore option first.

You haven't identified your notebook with its product name or product number. I have no idea as to its warranty status.

Is the warranty still in effect? (the free warranty is for one year)

Check your warranty status Here.

Help us to help you by posting the following information.

1.  The complete Model Name. or Product Number. of the notebook - see This HP web document if you don't how to locate the model number and\or product number.

In or out of warranty?

Connect an external display to the notebook to see if a Windows login screen is visible.

Follow the troubleshooting on the following document.
