Hi there @ACS3,
Thank you for joining in on the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great place to ask questions, find solutions and get help from HP and the community! I read your post on the HP Support Forums. I wanted to reach out to you and help! I understand that the Bluetooth on your HP Pavilion g6-2229tu Notebook PC does not turn on.
Here are some documents that may help you.
Using Bluetooth Devices. This document may be helpful because it walks you through connecting devices.
Understanding and troubleshooting Bluetooth wireless technology. This document has other helpful information about drivers, making sure everything is Bluetooth enabled, fixing Bluetooth problems, etc.
Have you tried in the Device Manager to update the driver that is currently installed?
You had mentioned uninstalling the driver already. I would like you to try it again for me please, after you uninstall the driver in the Device Manager, restart your Notebook twice, then reinstall the driver.
I did some research and found the download for the newest Ralink Bluetooth Software Driver for your specific HP Pavilion g6-2229tu Notebook PC: sp61795.exe.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it also. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating.
Here is a link from Microsoft called Connect to Bluetooth Devices.
Please let me know if I answered your question by clicking the 'Thumbs up' if the troubleshooting steps in this post resolved the issue for you please click the 'Accept as Solution' button. This will allow other's who have the same issue to find the solution also. If you require further assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please just re-post with the results of the troubleshooting.
Have a great day! 🙂

Hi @ACS3,
Where does it say that it is disabled?
Have you used the HP Support Assistant to update the drivers?
What does the HP Support Assistant say?
Have you tried to Enable Bluetooth in the Device Manager?
Do you have a White light on the Wireless Symbol on the Notebook, or is it an amber light?
Have you tried to update drivers or Enable Bluetooth in Safe Mode with Networking?
Please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi there @ACS3,
Thank you for getting back to me. On the spot that says Bluetooth off, you can usually slide the bar that says off over to the on position. If you try to slide the bar, does it let you turn it on?
If not, please try to:
- Open "Device Manager".
- Go to "View"
- Click "Show hidden icons"
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right click on Bluetooth Generic Adapter
- Click update the driver.
- Please restart your Notebook twice.
Please re-post and let me know if those worked.
Thanks!

Hi there @ACS3,
From what I seen in the picture it looks like you need the Ralink Bluetooth PCI-E Adapter Driver.
Here is the Ralink Bluetooth Software Driver: sp59632.exe
Version: 9.2.10.10
Please download the driver and restart your Notebook twice. See if you can access Bluetooth then.
If not, here is the Network Drivers for your HP Pavilion g6-2229tu Notebook PC. There are more Ralink Bluetooth Software Driver's available at that website. You would need to install the proper Ralink Driver so that you can access Bluetooth.
Please try that and let me know how it goes.
Thanks!
