 I try to update bios because my hardware is the latest version, but my bios is not,so my hardware is not compitable with the current version of BIOS.

I already download sp.78940.exe F.22 but when i create recovery to my flashdisk,there is no 80BC.bin bios file,just 80BB.bin , 80BD.bin , 80BF.bin

My system board id is : 80BC

Can i update bios using 80BB.bin or 80BD ect. ?

@Julius123

A very warm welcome to the HP community. A very good day to you.

I understand that you have an HP Notebook - 14-ac001tx laptop. I read that you're unable to update the BIOS on your laptop. Not to worry, I'll do my best to help you.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • You have mentioned in your post that the laptop is working fine. SO why are yu trying to update the BIOS? BIOS updates are released to fix any ongoing issues with a particular computer.

Meanwhile, I did some research and found that the only BIOS update available on the HP website for this laptop model is sp78940.exe version F.22. This BIOS update is said to provide support for a new keyboard layout.

Hope this answers your questions. Do let me know if you have any questions. Cheers! 🙂

Hi @Julius123,

I reviewed the post comprehensively. You've shown commendable troubleshooting skills, infinite patience and a great attitude to try and resolve the issue. Kudos to you for that and it is greatly appreciated. 🙂 As @MKazi is out of office I am taking over from here.

Please try these steps first

Please use Hp support assistant to update the bios from this link: http://hp.care/2u1dani It should do it automatically. It will install all the relevant update and drivers for your computer's hardware.

This should do the trick for you. If this does not work,

Try to create a new local user administrator account from here http://hp.care/2rZfJBCand then run HP support assistant again.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care and have a blessed week ahead. 🙂

Cheers!
