Hi:

Most likely you have to install the chipset and applicable graphics driver for your model notebook.

See if these work...

Chipset.  Install first and reboot.

Graphics:  Install and reboot.

Dear Customer,

Welcome and Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Forum

It looks like you are trying to find the steps to increase or decrease the screen brightness for your Notebook

Method 01.

Open Windows Control Panel, click on Hardware and Sound, then in the Power Options Section, click on

"Change power-saving settings." There's a slider to adjust brightness at the bottom of the window.

Method 02.

Open Windows Control Panel, open Windows Mobility Centre and adjust the brightness here

Method 03.

On most of the Notebooks, tapping F3 and F2 Key will often increase and decrease the screen brightness

If the above mentioned steps doesnt fix the issue please install the below mentioned steps to resolve the issue

HP On-Screen Display Utility

Please try the steps as shown below this might help you fix the issue

Please turn OFF the Notebook

Un-plug the Power/AC Adapter and also remove the Battery too

Press and Hold the Power Button of the Notebook for a full minute

Now let's re-insert the battery back in and plug back the Power/AC Adapter

Start the Notebook and keep tapping F10 Key during the startup to access the BIOS

Once you get to the BIOS, Please press F9 or F5 Key[Model specific] to load setup defaults for the BIOS

Use the arrow keys to say "YES" and hit enter

Now let's press Esc/Escape Key. Save Changes and Exit - Yes

Now please wait till the Unit loads the Windows Operating system

Now perform the steps I had given in my previous post again
