I have a laptop that originally came with Vista that I put XP on. I am having an issue with the wireless signal not picking up all the speed my router is putting out. Does anyone have a link to the broadcom drivers to update mine to get all that is possible?

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.

The above requested information can be found on the bottom of the computer or inside the battery compartment. Please do not include the serial number. Please enter the model/product information into HP's Online Consumer Support page and/or post it here for our review.

Please post the Windows Device Manager's "Hardware Ids" for the wireless network adapter, as shown in the example below;

Hello Paulrob6320

As I understand it you are looking to upgrade your HP Pavilion dv6205us to Windows 8 and need the Broadcom drivers. Now according to the website there are no drivers for that system on Windows 8 and I am assuming that Windows was unable to find functioning drivers. The only drivers that I found that might were are here. Now I am not promising that these drivers will work, but you can try them and see.

I hope these drivers work for you. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
