Pavilion DV6-6C35DX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I did a clean install of my device originally with Windows 7 (64-bit). Tried downloading and installing all the drivers from the HP site from the following link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dv6-6c00-entertainment-notebook-pc-seri....

Tried installing all the drivers under the Network section, and still no WiFi. Ethernet cable however works.

After, I went ahead and upgrade to Windows 10, hoping automatic updates would install the driver for me. Still no WiFi 😞

In addition to needing the WiFi driver, I noticed another missing driver under my Device Manager (Unknown device). The hardware ID for this driver is: ACPI\\VEN_HPQ&DEV_0004

Any help would be appreciating on getting these drivers!

Hi,

Your machine uses Realtek 8188GN PCIe Half MiniCard (HMC) WiFi adapter - 802.11b/g/n 1x1 and driver support ended with Windows 8 as mentioned on the following discussion:

     https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/WiFi-not-working-after-Windows-10-ins...

For other driver, you need:

The driver you sent me for the Unknown Device worked!

However, I followed the link for the WiFi driver and downloaded the driver provided by Paul_Tikkanen, but it does not work for my device. Any other driver suggestions?

Is it possible that I may need to uninstall all previous drivers I installed? I have so far installed 3 wifi drivers that do not work, just wondering if it may have any effect.

Thanks!

Hi,

As mentioned above: "Your machine uses Realtek 8188GN PCIe Half MiniCard (HMC) WiFi adapter - 802.11b/g/n 1x1 and driver support ended with Windows 8".

All drivers on the download site are NOT for Realtek 8188GN PCIe Half MiniCard therefor they won't work.
