WAIT.. I found what I was doing wrong amd got F11 working like it should. Ok once I'm in there what do you suggest I click on? I looked at systen restore but it only goes back to May 17 & 21. Nothing before my trouble started. What do you suggest I do. Thanks

I forgot to mention. I purchase my notebook NEW. A few months later added W 10 . The original was W 8.1 a couple of years ago.

I'm about to do F11 reload back to factory Day one.  Like I said NEW about 2 yearsgo it was W 8.1 a few months later I added W 10. Hope this works. Thanks

f11 goes to W8,,,,, that F11 partition is w8 recovery.

so that means you used MS to update, bad idea that.

the word added can be anything, using  w10 from whom and where? what media,

now we almost have a history here,,, almost.

the correct way is using the HP W10 media kit matching this exact piece of hardware.

then it all works

and support too,

going to , store buying  box, with w10 inside too, will fail.

MS can not make  disk that works on every PC made.  not even close.

Sure many things do work but not all.

luck you , this pC was sold new with W10

so its also here.  (how they do the license up grade Im not sure, but if you bought w10 in a store it has  retail COA keyl.

and works.  why not say how you got w10,  no one can guess this.ever. nor which one (home , enterprize or? what)

Seems like I can't use anything in F11. No Restore point before May 10th. Cannot reset to Factory setting its ask me to insert Windows installation or recover media to continue. I have none of that everything was pre-installed when I bought the computer New and out the box. I see nothing else in F11 to restore my computer to like it's new out the box. You said so many things about F11 now I'm a little dicouraged. Finally got into it the right way only to find it cannot help my situation. Unless there is more to F11 that I did not see or aware of.  Been at this today for about 5 straight hours.

I got Windows 10 from Microsoft when the offer w 10 free for the 1st year. It was a download they did when I accepted the free switchwhen they ist released it free to everyone who had windows 8 and below. Once agreed I did not have to do anything Windows downloaded to everyones computer automactically when the time came for each.

By the way Microsoft matched everything up from their file on my computer. It work great threw the years till a couple of weeks ago. Had no problems with the eithernet or any adapters.

That was the w10 add on windows free upgrade to the world. Not out of a store or box. Windows upgraded the world (USA) FREE when the 1st came out with W10 a few years ago. To replace all W 8/7/XP. They personally contacted everyone who had a registered PC. In my Info they have on my PC they had all the right info Plus it was for HOME use. When the time came a few months after W10 became ready, Windows downloaded to everyone computers who agreed to the upgrade. My PC was NEW at the time with W8.1 they knew that also. They was tring to get ALL computers onthe new W10 and offered it Free in the begining. There are millions upon millions who accepted at the time lol.

millions did and vast were unhappy, Geeksquad made zillion buck here,  only they are  happy.

it also voids HP support.  i guess they forgot to tell you that little fact,  (ms said they are sorry, so.... )

the HP SET comes with HP apps, and all HP proper drivers.  No MS  comes complete ever.. for your PC, no way possible.

it also killed dead the F11 key,

so no support there now, but the w8  refresh....

the problem also is you cant do updates, lacking internet, nor do update this dead intel, chip driver.

chicken and egg deal there. (move to another PC now)

you have 3 choises, really.  (more?)

1: DOWNLOAD THAT MS, ISO, FILE FROM W10  (your license is good there, read off COA sticker on bottom of PC)

burn a DVD or better at 8gb or bigger usb stick , ms even does that for you now, if you down load the tool for it there.

now boot to said  USB  (F9) stick and see if it will installed now with working intel, drivers.  i bet it will.?

or

2: buy the HP media kit.  but you commuted w8 to w10 at MS.com. oops your licence  for w8 is now GONE.

i guess hp charges for this error? to buy a new set?  This HP and a w8 license only, so.... w10 will cost. (my guess here)

I dont know but , licenses are problematic here,, if you think it all out.

or

3: down load all 4 , intel drivers from hp, on a working machined (means working internet connected pc)

and then install the

here they are again,,....  all are INTEL chip drivers,  the express chip driver is the one MANGLED.

here is that link again..  the w10 hp links (HP, dot com)

see that first box, called chip sets (that is the huge intel chips)

these must be loaded. for sure.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-d000-touchsmart-notebook-pc-series/6627588/mo...

do not do #5 intel firmware. seen there just the first 4 under chip sets.

do not mess with Realtek anything,  only the intel parts.

if a driver below (hp) is wrong it tells you its wrong, and is harmless, the HP drivers loaders are SMART.

1,2,3,4 see these?   these make the INTEL EXPRESS CHIP SING !

know this....

w10 needs a working (in this case) a working Intel,  express ethernet port. (yours is DEAD)

so W10 can correct missing drivers at all times !!

that even includes, install time,  it even asked you, can it update drivers then, but if the chip is unknown THEN.

it can't (you can not suck a new driver through a dead port, that be impossible) wifi can work here.

then when installed it cant change the license "activate" w10, can it. no.

nor can you get updates, w10 forced updates ,now. (there will be many)

nor can you right click,  windows,  Device manager and force an Ethernet, update of driver,  by hand. forced. cant.

you must get them from HP, on some other fully working system and down load them to a stick

then move to the dead pc (network dead) and install all HP drivers seen on your HP w10 support page,

or at least the express chip drivers.

And also , W10 now supports finding drivers in the HOOD.

yes,  it can even find , signature marked safe drivers in your neighborhood, if they have this selected ON.

but you cant because its dead.

in fact the first thing to get working is that Intel express chip,  I bet it all messed up. there.

did you read that first Intel driver,  details box.

it told you, that w10 can not find the express chip,  and that DM sees it missing when for sure it is NOT.

it's a MS bug that HP corrects, and you for got to load that.  be super important that 1st driver, there.

for SURE

next time keep your PC all HP , current,  or it can take hard hard work to cure.

never let MS tell you what to do ever.

do what you want and what HP supports.

if you asked HP they'd have told you not do that, I BET.

I'm not HP, ....
