Cluttered HP EliteBook 6930P; needed to clean-up, and used Administrator Tools/Utilities/Disk Sanitizer. No problem, until when I attempted to load windows using CD -- after loading all drivers, starting Windows -- get bluescreen error message:
"Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer."
I ran system diagnostics, and all tests pass: Start-up, Run-In and Hard Disk.
How can I re-load operating system? Failing that, how can I get to the DOS prompt to even try to run CHKDSK/F? Help!

Hello nycgeekgirl. I understand you're unable to boot into Windows.
What version of Windows are you running? I am going to assume you're using Windows 7.
You can use another computer to create a Windows 7 repair disc by following these instructions. This should give you access to the recovery console. You may also want to run the "sfc /scannow" command to ensure that your system files are intact.
If you're not unable to resolve the issue through this means you may want to consider performing a recovery. However, keep in mind that all of your data will be lost if you haven't previously backed it up. This document covers the recovery process.

Thanks so much!! Yes, I was able to create the recovery disk from another PC; windows loads, get to the language prompt just as you said.
Where I am stumped is that since the operating system is not listed on the screen following the language prompt, I have to select where I want the drivers, etc. loaded. First option is out since no operating system is listed; it also says to select "Load Drivers" and then install drivers for your hard disks. By selecting Load Drivers, I do go to the CD but don't know which file to select. I assume that it might be under xx-US, but even then several files are listed. The other option "Restore "Restore your computer using a system image that you created earlier" goes to another screen that lists options that do not help.
Next steps?

Hi nycgeekgirl
You need to reinstall Windows after wiping the hard drive with disk sanitizer is how I understand your query. But after reinstalling you get a BSOD? I don't think the System Repair cd is going to help with that since you don't have an OS installed at present.
