I was using a HP Pavilion g4-1024tx notebook. It was using Windows 7. The HP Support Assistant version I was using is 7.0.39.17. Today, when I am using my computer, it suddenly asked me to restart my computer. So, I closed all my windows and restarted it. After the restart, I never see the HP Support Assistant Icon on the taskbar again. I searched for the Icon but I could not find it. I enter the HP Support Assistant main icon from the desktop. I went to settings and tick the "display an icon in your taskbar. The icon will change, based on the type of message or update". I clicked the "save" button. But, nothing happened! What is going wrong?

Hi,

Right click on an empty area of the Taskbar, move the cursor over Toolbars and click 'HP Support Assistant' to place a tick against it.

Hi,

Try the following

First of all, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant by using the Microsoft 'Fixit' on the following link - this is particularly useful in correcting issues that may prevent reinstallation on machines running a 64bit OS.

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

When this has completed, restart the notebook.

Next download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the page on the link below - the download links are towards the bottom of the page.

After the installation, restart the notebook again.

Regards,

Click the arrow by your date and time and other task bar icons and select customize. From that menu, you should be able to change the settings for the task bar icon to display.
