Same deal! Bought a chromebook for my daughter several months ago - now 8 keys are not working.
Not worth the 530 $ we paid for the chromebook - very disappointed.
Will stick with apple products - customer support is way better and their products don't break down like HP and other products seem to.

My current solution which is a bit lame was to buy a $14 keyboard and attach with USB. It certainly takes away the convenience of a laptop that I was really loving - but I'm not in a position financially to make another laptop purchase at the moment.
(I also have a google file that I entered all the keys that stick with the working keyboard and then when I don't have my keyboard with me, I simply cut and paste from that file to whatever I'm working on. Its not a great solution either, but its worked in a pinch when I'm not writing too much.
HP really should fix this!!

My i,k,< and sometimes 8 weren't working. At first I thought it was just careless typing until it became such a hassle. The problem became so bad I couldn't log into my computer as my name is Kim and I couldn't use those letters. I had to go on the net with my phone to change my password to get into my computer. Then tried the OneTab download and my problem disappeared. Not sure why this made a difference on mine and not others, but happy it worked. I hope this helps the rest of you. I rarely use my computer for much, so the keys not working was really frustrating.

This question is for one of the HP reps. I am having the same issue with keys not working. I received a box from FedEx to return my Chromebook. When I spoke to a representative, I was told to not include my AC adaptor. When I received the instructions to return the Chromebook, however, it says to include the AC adaptor. I tried calling back technical support twice; the first time, I couldn't get through to anyone and the second time, I was transferred multiple times to people who didn't know the answer and eventually gave up. Can you please advise whether I should include it or not?

The HP chromebook membrane keyboard is of poor quality which results in cpecific areas of the keybard not functioning. The workaround is to use an USB external keyboard but I may also disassemble the CB and check myself. I hae had problems too with the audio that quickly failed and forced me to use bluetooth but generally I am apalled by the quality of these chromebooks.. I have two HP chromebooks and they seem both to lack basic quality.
