You're very welcome.
You can try modifying them to include the hardware ID of the devices you need to install, but don't get your hopes up--especially if you are trying to mod a video driver.
However, normally you can find a vista driver that will work for a model.
What model notebook (full model #) are you trying to install windows 7 on?

Hello , to install the conexent audio driver in hp dv 1000 windows 7 o.s.
You must open the my computer, and at any space you do right click, then you go to click on hardwear property, inside it you must click on device manager, you see audio driver device, so put your cusor and press right nevigation key you see the driver option ,at that time connet your laptop to the internet connection ,and see the update driver option. And update it, and it will directly installed in your laptop, then restart your laptop

Hi All,
A Paul I think gave some excellent advice about how to install an XP sound driver to run in Win 7.
I have an HP DV 1000 Laptop that runs excellently since Win 7, upgrade, but whilst the sound output is OK, the INTERNAL Mic will not work now!
Plugging in an external Mic works OK, but it is annoying having to use additional HW all the time, so can anyone advise how to fix the input mic?
I would follow the previously posted install, but don't want to upset the current settings as the sound drivers were updated by Win 7 update OK, simply the Mic input somehow didn't!!

Hey nikoriko11,
For the audio drivers, or any drivers that you do need for your computer. There are a couple of places that you can get these drivers from. The first is, the HP Driver and Software page at hp.com. At this web page you will need to click on Support, and then Download drivers. After this you just need to follow the instructions on the page.
The second option that you do have is the HP Support Assistant. You are able to perform several tasks with this tool to make sure that everything is running at its best. I have included the document 'Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7, Windows Vista)'. Once you do have the document open, click on the option for Maintaining your computer and installing the latest software updates'. Follow through the steps, and install all updates that are found.
If you do need further assistance with finding the audio driver for your computer, I would need to know the full model number of your computer. I have included the document 'Guide to finding your product number'.
Thank you.

Hi Lil_Lisa,
I was interested in this post re the Connexant Sound Drivers as I have exactly the same issue as another "poster", see below, although he has aPresario V6000(, regarding the internal mic on the my HP Pavilion Dv1000, since upgrading to Win 7........?
Is there any fix, to get the internal mic working again, an external mic works fine, but is not so convenient as the built in one.
I have used Win update and various other drivers suggested, but nothing will ge the internal mic to work now, and Win update says the device has the "up to date driver" and is working properly.....Yeah right!!!
Do you have any other suggestions to be able to fix this?
Thanks,
Brian

Hi:
The audio on the nx9005 will be an issue as you can see from the other posts, so I doubt it can be done.
Plus 512 MB of memory is not enough to run W7 on.
I think you are due to treat yourself to a new (or newer) notebook.
