I have a Pavillion dV6000 Notebook. I attempted to download the latest Conexant HD Audio Output driver. I get the following message: "Driver installation failed. Could not find the Media device for this driver." I have SP31994 installed. Im running XP SP3. Any suggestions?

I suspect this is a software issue with Media Player 11 and the mp4 format/codec.
Are you open to the use of a media player other than Windows Media Player? I personally have not experienced any issues using VLC media player if you are open to an alternate option.
VLC can be found here and supports mp4 natively. Verification of this can be found here under input formats.
EDIT
It could also be that the video is out of sync with the audio. Is the video driver updated? Here is HP's newest driver for the system. HP more than likely has stopped making new drivers for this unit. You might have a better success updating the video card through Nvidia's site.

There seems to be many models for DV6000.
Was there an issue that led to updating the driver?
Does audio work at all?
What is the product number of the notebook.
NOTE: Do NOT provide the serial number.

Cloud_Strider,
The p/n isRG254UA#ABA.
The issue that led to updating the driver was a problem that I have with playing MP4 files using Windows Media Player v11. WMP player 11 does not supply an MP4 codec, so I downloaded a couple:
Media Player codec Pack
The combination of Haali Media Splitter and FFDShow
3ivx
The 1st 2 “solutions” resulted in the audio being badly out of sync with the video
The 3ivx codec gave me audio but no video.
I thought that perhaps the reason that the downloaded codecs did not work was because the Conexant HD Audio Output driver was out of date.
The mp4 files that misbehave under WMP 11 and XP work fine on machines running Windows 7.

This driver has a different file number. Conexant won't have the driver listed on their site and they direct users back to the OEM which is HP in this case.
I recommend trying the above driver as it is the newest driver for this system from HP.
Also, make sure this BUS driver is installed prior to the audio driver for good measure. The driver update will fail if it is not installed.
Let me know what happens with the above files.

I downloaded the VLC play and it works. The video is a little jerky compared to what I get using the WMP, but it’s acceptable. I tried downloading the latest video driver, but I got a message stating that the driver I was downloading was older than the installed driver, so I cancelled the installation.

I am glad it is working better for you with VLC media player.
Regarding the choppy video, have you tried using Nvidia's auto detect tool to ensure that they don't have a new driver? HP's support page is often times behind the hardware manufacturer in the video card area but that is normal for OEMs to be a little behind them.

Sorry about the delay in replying. I tried downloading the Nvidia driver from the HP website. I got a message indicating that the driver I was attempting to download was older than the installed driver, so I did not perform the download. I then went to the Nvidia site and used their autodetect facility. I got the message "We could not find any NVIDIA products within your system". Searching for Go 6150 on the NVIDIA site yields no hits. I learned on the NVIDIA Driver Forum that the latest drivers for the GeForce 6150 do not work with the GeForce Go 6150.

Nvidia sometimes will have the notebook versions available, but not always.
Thanks for updating the community regarding the Nvidia driver.
