HP Envy 15.6" Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have just bought a laptop and there seems to be no adjustment controls for screen contrast. I can adjust brightness only both in the keyboard buttons, as well as in the display color and brightness calibration settings. Please, let me know how I can adjust contrast, as it is fundamental to my work in photography.

Regards,

Hello @tsimoes,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.

I came across your post about the adjustment controls, and wanted to help!

To start, can you provide me with the Product Number of your notebook?  Here is a link you can use that will help you find your Model and Product Number: How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

Looking forward to your reply.

Have a great day!

Hello @tsimoes,

Thank you for the quick reply!

From the Start screen, search for and open HP My Display.  Then click on Adjust.  You should be able to access the Brightness, Contrast, and Volume options from that menu.

I hope this helps.

Regards!

Hello again,

There is no such option named "HP My Display" in this notebook. I searched for it and it finds no results. I could not find it either when browising throught the settings options.

Hello @tsimoes,

Try a search for Calibrate Display Color, and let me know if you have that option.  You can review the following resource for more information, if needed: Adjust Brightness and Contrast on Windows 10 Desktop (Not an HP supported Web site).

Dear Technical Support,

To use the Calibrate option, I need to have specific controls for brightness and contrast in the computer to begin with. Follow the steps yourself and you will notice that. Calibration is only a guide to set the parameters, not the controls themselves. I do have brightness controls, but not contrast.

AGAIN: Where are the controls for contrast in the HP ENVY laptops? This technical support guidelines seems to me that youy either do not know yourselves, or you are trying to hide the fact that this laptop DOES NOT HAVE CONTRAST CONTROLS. Could you please be honest/straightforward, or provide actual solutions?

If the latter is not accomplished, I will be diseminating the incomplete display comtrol options and thge resultant terrible display quality of this brand in photography communities and social media.

Hello @tsimoes,

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post serial numbers and case details.

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works,
this post has instructions.

Best of luck!
