Here is a link to a list of blink codes.

 

It does show that one blink is the CPU and it will have to be repaired.

My dv7 does the same thing but I can turn it off and on numerous time and it will finally boot up. However, I have upgraded my OS to Windows 8.1 through my college bachelor's degree program (Computer Information Sciences). When all I get is a black screen, I have the number lock and the caps lock button flashing 2 times and then a long pause and it does it again.
