Hi,

I'm using an HP EliteBook 8460p.

Recently, the Caps Lock light keeps flashing during the operation of the computer, the computer working normally. I cannot do anything to keep the light off, except restarting the computer. Then sometimes the problem comes back.

Please kindly advise what is the cause of the problem, and how to fix it!

Many thanks!

Hi nchh13,

I saw your post with the flashing lights on your Elitebook. Typically when the Caps or Num Lock key is flashing this is an indication of a hardware failure. This HP support document Computer Does Not Start and the LEDs Blink or the Computer Beeps has a section that will tell what the flashing pattern means.

If you have any further questions I suggest that you post in the commercial forums as the Elitebook 8460p is a commercial product. Here is a link to the Commercial Notebook forum.

I just have the VGA chip replaced, then keep current OS. Is that the reason, cause of incompatibility?
