Envy Printer 7640
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I seem to have entered a password for my Envy 7640 printer but can't remember what it is and numerous attempts have been unsuccessful.  Can anyone suggest a way to find this out

Hi there @thomasbenn

Before I provide troubleshooting documentation, I would like to take a minute to welcome you to the HP Support Community! I will do my absolute best to help you with the loss of your password for your HP Envy 7640 today.

To restore the printer to the original network settings from the printer control panel:

  • Touch and slide your finger across the screen,
  • Touch Setup,
  • Touch Network Setup,
  • Touch Restore Network Defaults,
  • Touch Yes,
  • A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored,
  • Touch OK,
  • Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset.

Once restored, the username and password should default to:

  • Username: ADMIN
  • Password: (blank)

Please let me know if these steps resolve the issue for you. If these steps do not help and you require further assistance, I would be more than happy to provide you with more troubleshooting.

When we settle the issue, please kindly mark the appropriate post as an Accepted Solution.
