One more thing-- phone support wants $50 to $150 to fix the issue.  I paid close to $60 extra for the thumb drive to fix.  HP needs to just fix this issue.

Hi @BigBlueBalou

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post serial numbers and case details.

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, this post has instructions.

Long time no hear. lets keep it that way..  Does this mean we are having a long term relationship?  I gave my computer to my daughter, but she wants the one that folds back.  So it looks like the old blue box will be back before Chirstmas.  I am going to try to get this cleaned up soon.  I want my daughter to see how the combo of key board and touch screen working in conjunction with each other is cooler than drinking a cocktail from a pine apple while swing in a hamock under shade tree on a hot july day.

I'll be in touch soon.

I think i was having issues with the mouse pad at that same time.

The Touch Screen and Keyboard  are "the Bare Nessessities of Life "  (lets make a commercial)

Hi @BigBlueBalou,

Thank you for your update.

Were you able to finally get the touch screen working properly?

Early Christmas gifts are usually an unexpected pleasure, ha ha:smileywink:

Enjoy the summer breezes and cool cocktails while swinging in your hammock under the tree. (Sounds wonderful)!

Hey All

I'm back in control of the old Blue Box sooner then expected.  Just to let everyone know, HP is keeping in touch, at my pace.  Sorry if this does not help others.  Since the Old Blue Box came back to me from my daughter, I'm looking to clean up this issue with the touch screen ASAP.  I love the Touch Screen and Key Board in concert.  I'm not sure how the launch of W10 will change things, have not worked with W10.   I guess I am part of the "1%-ers"  that liked W8.  But that was due to the Touch Screen and Key Board working in unison.  Without Touch Screen, I gave it two thumbs "up yours".  (ok to strike last sentence if in appreciate)

We are looking and finding really good deals for the money we want to spend for our daughter's needs.  And this is before chirstmas.    HP  is at the top of our list, and thats a two thumbs "up yours" to Dell.   lol

So stay tuned.

I too have an HP Envy Sleekbook 4 with windows 8 preloaded. Had it for 2 years and suddenly the touch screen stopped working. None of the suggestions helped so i tried a method I've used for another laptop when the graphics didn't work right. On a blog someone said to go into Devices and delete the driver, then restart. The computer will automatically choose the best driver for it and problem solved. Worked for my touch screen too.  good luck.
