I have used one with 2 22 inch 1080P monitors - one off the vga built in to the PC (Samsung Syncmaster S22B350) and one off the HDMI on the HP 3005PR Port Replicator (HP ProDisplay P221)  - and it still was able to use the built in monitor

Here's what worked for me,

I have a 9470M, I7, GraphicsAdapter: IntelHD graphics 4000.

I have a docking station which has a display port and I have one more display port on the ultrabook.

When I used these 2 display ports for connecting 2 external monitors(p2214hb),

I get real estate worth 2 external monitors and the ultrabook display as well(Total of 3 display screens)

But recently situation changed and I have to use two different monitors one has HDMI and the other monitor has com port.

I used Display port to HDMI adapter on docking station to 1st external monitor.

The second monitor I used com port on docking station to connect to 2nd monitor,

here's the issue only two displays at anytime can work the third one is always off limit for this type of connection.

Hi,

I'm running on Windows 8.1 Update 1 but somehow the second LCD display cannot be used when the otehr monitor using DisplayPort is running.

See the below error:

is there any Firmware or driver update that I may have missed ?

Thank you for choosing and using HP product and services.

I was able to make it work with two monitors + bultin-in display using one monitor connected to VGA and one monitor connected to Display Port.

The monitor connected to Display Port needs to have Display Port connection. I was initially trying to connect using a Display Port to DVI adapter and it does not work. After I changed to a Display Port to Display Port cable, I was able to pick all 3 monitors in the Windows display configuration without any tweaking or updates needed.

I'm using Windows 7, but I would think this same process works with newer versions.

9470 definely supports the setup you are trying to accomplish with the Intel HD graphics card. Are you using the Intel GUI or just using the WIndows interface? On Win 7, right click on desktop area, choose Graphics Properties>>Use Basic Mode for the Intel Graphics, (make sure the lid is open on the laptop) Under the Display section click on Multipl Displays>>on the right side under Active Displays click on the drop down arrow and choose 3. I'm running that setup now.

by floowing your instructions I get only 2 monitors. Identified as 1 2 and 2 again.

My configuration is laptop open, HDMI and HDMI. both HDMI are on the dock.

So what setup are you using? is one of them VGA?

Verified I am on the HD4000 video card.
