When I play games for 10-15 minutes the sound becomes laggy and games start running extremely slow.

With the high end processors, RAM & graphic card, performance is higher, but if there are faulty memory cards or hard drive it can affect.
if you can, please do the test i suggested.
don't use ccleaner, third party registry cleaners --- it could wreck havoc.
after you do the above tests, do a complete hard drive test & memory test from BIOS
Soon after powering on the laptop, press F2 To ever System Diagnostics, do the quick & compete tests of HARD DRIVE & MEMORY. please post the results.
KUDOS or +THUMB sign is there right side of my post.
ACCEPT AS SOLUTION is also there besides my post 🙂

Which OS, 32 or 64-bit?
Is it lagging only while playing? What about playing games in low setting and reduced resolution?
What about time to boot into operating system?
Any overheating or loud fan noise?
Did you download all the updates available in HP product page & all the Microsoft Windows updates?
In the mean time do this:
You must be logged in as administrator to make the change:
type temp in RUN PROGRAM, delete everything there in the folder
again
type %temp% in RUN, delete everything in the Folder
restart system.
Then this:
Run a system file checker scan from elevated command prompt as administrator:
Type sfc /scannow in command prompt as administrator (there is a space between 'sfc' & '/')
& wait for the result.
do a check disk, type chkdsk from command prompt as administrator after above scan.
you can test whether there is any system registry errors or other file errors by these scans.. post results.
I don't know which operating system you're using, in windows 8 you can run as administrator in command prompt by pressing windows key+X+A.
Post your reply with all the results and answers.. Follow all the steps promptly.
hope it helps you,
thanks,

Windows 8.1(64 bit)
I tried running the amazing spiderman i low as well as ultra settings. Fps still lags ans after sometime the sound become too laggy. Can anyone tell me why do sounds become choppy while playing games. Can it be overheating? I downloaded all updates but nothing changed.
No registry error as I use CCleaner.
By the way where is KUDOS
AND when i brought the laptop, the games were running fine.
Can it be a driver error?

Thanks a lot. All my games are now running on 60 fps.
One more thing, I can't run amazing spiderman game(2012) on full screen. I am not talking about windowed/fullscreen mode. The game just doesn't cover the full screen.

May be you to change resolution in games settings. try that.
Do regular disk cleanup once a month & disk defragmentation once in 2-3 months.
Cleanup temp & %temp% folders once a month.
turn on the security softwares, do regular windows updates, that's it.. Rest everything will be taken care of.
Hope your BIOS test came good!
thanks,

@Taavish wrote:Changing the game's resolution didn't help. I tried them all-1366X768 to 640X480. This happens with many games.
Any suggestions? Is this a problem?
When you start the game a pop up window displays. The full screen option is the second one. Click on it.
or
ALT + ENTER
If above don't work, try this fix:
1. Go to wherever you installed the game and right click 'Spider-Man Web of Shadows.exe'
2. Click 'Properties'
3. Click 'Compatibility' tab
4. Then look at the settings section and check the box next to 'Reduced color mode'
5. Make sure it's set to '8-bit (256) color'
6. Then finish up by clicking apply and then click ok.
7. Run the game
Post back if it works,
thanks,

I 'm guessig it be something like a scaling problem (i.e., black bars, not full screen). You may need to change your video scaling options in your graphics card's control panel.
No, play music in medium 🙂
