Your video card maybe set to either the aspect scaling, or do not scale options - which means your video card will keep the game at the correct aspect and you get black bars as a result. Most people would prefer this to the game being stretched and distorted.
If you'd like to go back to the stretching, go into your video card control panel and change your flat panel scaling option to "Use nVidia scaling".
thanks

Where might the scaling options be in the nVidia's control panel? My desktop does not have a problem like this, it covers the full screen , only in games. By the way what is irql_not_less_or_equal and what problems can it cause?

Might be unfixable. I selected update in nVidia control panel, it opened the website. Should I download the update? Can it cause any problem? Can i get a performance boost by updating it? Any utility to restore if it causes problems?

I exactly don't know, bit I'll try..
It should be under "Adjust Desktop Size and Position", is that option grayed out?
If your Notebook is running with Optimus enabled NVIDIA (i think yours will be optimus enabled), you have to adjust scaling options in Intel Graphics Settings.
Nvidia GPU relies on the resolution settings set by the integrated Intel HD graphics for custom resolutions and scaling.
OR
If the above didn't work,
Try this:
Within the Intel Graphics and Media control panel, the resolutions will have an option to: Center Image, Scale to Fullscreen, Maintain Aspect Ratio.
Fix it to 4:3.
& the last try would be:
first in intel panel change resolution to the lowest (800X600) and then you can choose "scale full screen" or whatever in scaling.
That's all I know 😞

I have one tried that, creates lots of conflicts while updating with Windows updates & future product updates.
If you're a game savvy... you may try 😉
thanks,

Sometimes, this error will occur when a backup utility or antivirus scanner makes changes to Windows that it doesn’t like. If you’ve installed and run such an app lately, you’re going to want to reboot in Safe Mode and uninstall it. If that doesn’t work, restore to a Restore Point that’s just before you installed said app, and use a different app instead.
