Hi, my daughter saved up and bought herself a H P Stream 11 from Tesco.  She hasn't used it fir a while.  We went to start it and the power light comes on orange (beside the power cable), the main power light is on.  When you press the Iain power button nothing happens.  The screen does not light, there are no mechanical noises.  I've tried draining the battery and restarting but nothibg happens.  The laptop is one month out of warranty.  Any help would be appreciated.

Try holding the Windows logo key down along with the B key when powering up to reset the BIOS.  If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged from the charger to attempt to run the battery completely down (although it sounds like you have already have done this).

The Stream 11 has no moving parts, no fan or rotational hard drive, it is similar to a tablet and will not make any noise when booting up.  You might want to try to connect it to an HDMI TV to see if there is any display there.
