HP 260 G1 DM Business PC

I received one with problem to attach tio network. It used som own IP address as oprimary, regardless of IP setting.

I setup IP and it was secondary. I mean that there is problem with network card and its driver,

I updated driver. I found that there are more new driver versions including BIOS.

After BIOS upgrade I can not start the machine. It starts fan , after cca minute its preed inreases, but the PC does nothing.

I tried to clear CMOS without success.

What can I do myself before I sent the PC to servis ?

Same problem here..

Any solutions yet? Basically it's bricked after the update.

Exact same problem and symptoms here. I'm distrurbed that it's been three days and zero response tot his topic.

I tried the BIOS recovery steps, popping it on to USB - but no joy. I have an LED on my USB and it doesn't flash, so I don't think the HP machine is even trying to acess the USB stick.

Plugging in a wired keyboard, the lights don't flash at all. It's as if it isn't even getting to USB stage.

HP - response required please.

Another one here with exactly the same issue - what do we need to do to get someone from HP to take notice?

HP Recommended

Their Twitter team couldn't be any more obvious but not wanting to help.

I just got an email response saying to hit f10 repeatedly to go into the bios and then reset it.

Not convinced - considering the keyboard seems to be non-operational. However going to pop home in my lunch break to try.

Just to save you wasting your lunchbreak I've tried that and as you'd expect it made no difference at all - as you said I don't think the PC is even trying to access USB devices at all as the lights don't come on on a wired keyboard, so it's not going to register a keypress. The light on my usb flash drive lights up momentarily when the power is turned on but doesn't stay on like it would in a normal boot sequence.

I suspect it's bricked and that a return to base under warranty is the only solution. It would be nice to get confirmation from someone at HP regarding this though - I appreciate this is a peer to peer forum but presumaby it is monitored by someone that can advise us as it seems to be affecting a few of us.

Thanks! 🙂 I had already gone home... it was no hardship and at least this way I can tell them that I tried it.

I had little faith, I'd already told them the keyboard seemed non-operational as you say. I get a very quick flash as it powers on, but caps lock etc. don't light up if pressed.

USB also doesn't light up or do anything.

I thought if I'd told them the keyboard situation and they suggested F10 route they'd know something I didn't...  but nah...

Customer visited me and I returned him his 260.

As he said it is second piece with same problem.

Same source of problem, BIOS update.

He will try to return them to service.

HP are coming out to fix mine - which is better than I expected to be honest, expected lots of returns faff.

However it does seem a ticket will get you help.

I've told them to remove the update until they fix the problem.

You've done better than me then - I registered for a repair last week and was told that there would be a delay as "the part was out of stock", although I've no idea what part they are referring to! I'm presuming you are in the UK too hostile based on your lunch break, that right? Wonder if I need to chase them up again then
